(weewerk) is an independent record label and artist management company, based
in Toronto, Canada, that focuses on folk, roots, bluegrass and alt-country music.
While (weewerk) was founded in November 2002 as a series of art-and-music salon
events organized by visual artist Germaine Koh and indie-rock defender Phil Klygo
in their apartment on Queen St. West.
(weewerk) helped alt-folk artist Great Lake Swimmers release their haunting self-titled
debut album in March 2003, and were immediately heralded as a fresh new record label
within the independent Canadian music world.
Since then (weewerk) has continued to be active as a record label releasing music by a
unique roster of talented and creative artists; The Barmitzvah Brothers, The Burning Hell,
Canteen Knockout, Don Brownrigg, Jenny Omnichord, Elliott Brood, FemBots, Great Lake Swimmers,
Ox, Proof Of Ghosts, Two-Minute Miracles, and The United Steel Workers of Montreal.
