Sir Jerry was born in Toronto before the War. He has been writing songs and singing them since he was 12 or so. Father of 4, Sir Jerry has had many muses for his music. The job he has been given, by secret people from many different lands, is to make children happy and kooky, and their parents content.
His debut CD, Bees, Butterflies & Bugs has received rave reviews from children, parents and critics. Greig Dymond, CBC TV Producer of Jimmy MacDonald’s Canada and co-author of the national best seller, Mondo Canuck, describes Sir Jerry’s Bees, Butterflies & Bugs as “Raffi meets Sgt. Pepper”. The Globe and Mail described it as “Yellow Submarine-ish”.
Sir Jerry hooked up with famed Toronto rocker/producer Ruben Huizenga, former front man for Glueleg, presently of Micro Maureen, in the spring of 2004 to collaborate on the Bees, Butterflies & Bugs album. The studio became a drop in for the Canadian music scene with notables such as Edwin and Cindy Gomez stopping by to lend a hand. The songs are edgy, theatrical and appeals to all ages. Sir Jerry composed all songs and collaborated on some with Ruben. He is the lead vocalist on all, plays keyboards, piano, guitar and bass. Ruben added his legendary guitar and orchestrations.
Sir Jerry in his other lives is a writer and actor most recently appearing on the West Wing. He is currently producing a documentary on the day he spent with John Lennon at the age of 14.
