MapleMusic is a website that offers a virtual home where Canadian musicians, and fans of Canadian music converge. We wanted to create a site where Canadian musicians hold centre stage for music lovers around the world. We add new bands every couple of weeks; some will be ones that you know very well, and others will be bands that you may not have heard of, but that you will want to get to know. Canadian music is something that we are proud of, and MapleMusic.com wants to be the web site that brings it to the online community. We are 100% Canadian owned and operated and offer 100% Canadian made merchandise.
We want MapleMusic to be the Internet's five Cs of Canadian music. To be more specific we want our site to be about Community, Content, Contact, Commerce and naturally Canada. Through hard work and commitment you can expect a Community of artists whose products will be sold in a fair and honourable atmosphere. Content is key to this site - here you will find a steady supply of information on some of the best that Canada has to offer in terms of music. However, perhaps our greatest goal is to provide ongoing Contact between the outside world and Canadian music, whether that be through profiles, concert listings, free giveaways or contests, we think more of you should be listening to our musicians. Finally all these elements will be brought together within one E-Commerce site, MapleMusic will deliver products quickly and under only the most secure of circumstances.

The Proposition for Participating Artists

Due to an overwhelming response from artists to become part of the MapleMusic website we are unable to reply to all submissions. If you send us a package please include a copy of your album and any pertinent band information (bio, tour history, etc.). We will give it fair and serious consideration.

Can anyone submit a CD to MapleMusic?
Yes, anyone can submit a CD. However, we do have strict criteria for the artists that we bring on the site.

What is that criteria?
MapleMusic is an e-commerce, Canadian music portal. People visit MapleMusic to learn about and purchase Canadian music. To that end we request that artists submit full-length, recently released CDs, with a biography. We care about how serious that artist is about their music and ask questions as to whether or not the band is touring, getting out there and looking to grow. High quality and production values is crucial. We have limited resources and cannot give you advice on the quality or direction of your music nor can we help you financially with your marketing. We can give an independent artist a home.

Is there a particular type of music MapleMusic is looking for?
Not really. MapleMusic wants to represent as many genres and regions of Canada as it can. Currently the site reflects the roster of bands that have been with MapleMusic from the start. However, now that we've ironed out some of the earlier kinks and perfected our e-commerce capabilities, we are looking to expand our stable of acts.

If I submit a CD, what happens to it?
MapleMusic has bi-weekly listening sessions. Each session is basically a roundtable of musicians and staffers who listen to the CDs, go through the biographies, do online searches and make decisions according to the aforementioned criteria. MapleMusic is under no obligation to accept your CD and offer it up for sale.

How will I know if I've been accepted or not?
We will be in touch. Please be patient.
